Helltrain, Game design workshop project
Helltrain is a game for my first ever team based project in our module. This project was the first time I have to collaborate with others to complete a game together.
Helltrain is about a protagonist, named Dan, that has woke up in an MRT that is out of this world. The protagonist has to move around all while avoiding or killing the enemies. This game focuses on using local real world effects such as the sound effect of the real MRT and the flooring in the MRT so as to make the player feel as if they are in the real MRT. The music also tries to be scary enough to increase immersion in the game.
My role in this project was the main programmer. Since this was my first time collaborating on a game, I learnt how to be a team player and I really helped in providing ideas for the rest of my team. This experience was fun overall as I learnt the DOs and DON'Ts in a team so that the game would be completed.
